Moving to a new city can be daunting. Meeting new people, making new friends, finding your way around, finding a church or just a great place to eat or grab a cup of coffee. We get it. Here's some information we hope that you find helpful in your move to the east Tennessee area!
SCHOOLS
There are multiple options for schools in our area depending on where you may live in the quad county areas of Anderson, Roane, Morgan and Knox counties, including public, charter and private schools. Each district is unique and different with vast opportunities for academics, sports and other activities. Check the links below for the different school districts and their enrollment requirements, etc.
CHURCH
We would love to invite you to Ridge Church any Sunday for services for our worship gatherings and for community groups for all ages. Our church is on a mission is to help people follow Jesus by emphasizing values such as loving Jesus, living generously, and impacting the community.

American museum of science and energy
For STEM teachers searching for inspiring science field trips, The American Museum of Science & Energy (AMSE) offers innovative learning opportunities that students won’t forget. As one of the best science museums in the southeast, AMSE’s diverse exhibits show how STEM education is applied in real-world settings and how watershed moments in history often involve scientific breakthroughs. oak ridge children's museum
With more than 20,000 artifacts showcased in more than 20 interactive exhibits, this entertaining museum delves into history, culture, Appalachian music, geography, and the environment. Families can bond over activities like pottery and gardening.

norris dam state park
Norris Dam State Park sits on more than 4,000+ acres and is located on Norris Reservoir. With more than 800 miles of shoreline, the park offers recreational boating, skiing, fishing, and more! melton lake park
With 173 miles of shoreline, Melton Lake Park is the perfect location for an outdoor adventure. Strike up a sand volleyball match or cool off in the water beside picturesque shorelines that are ideal for SUP (stand-up paddle boards), kayaks, and pedal boats. The lake, located on the eastern edge of Oak Ridge, is also known as one of the best 2,000-meter rowing venues in America.
If you want to take a break from the water, there is a peaceful 5.6-mile waterfront greenway great for walking, running, and biking. Other family-friendly amenities include a volleyball court, sheltered picnic tables, playground, and pavilion. [CREDIT: EOR]
MUSEUM OF APPALACHIA
A Smithsonian Affiliate museum, this museum tells the story of a region which was settled by proud, hardworking people through the relics they made and used to survive. The museum contains over 250,000 pioneer relics including 30 log structures featuring cantilever barns, chapel, schoolhouse and cabins including Mark Twain Family cabin.
The Museum of Appalachia is a living history museum — a pioneer mountain farm-village that lends voice to the people of Southern Appalachia through the artifacts and stories they left behind. We offer self-guided tours, and are open every day of the week. We also have a gift shop and country cafe on site.

GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
Ridge upon ridge of forest straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. World renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, and the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, this is America's most visited national park. JACKSON SQUARE
Jackson Square lies at the center of the historic district, which once served as the city’s original town site. During World War II, this area was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Today Jackson Square features a variety of eclectic shops, delicious restaurants, lush gardens, and historic displays. There are multiple festivals, the Saturday farmer's market and other events happening yearly in Jackson Square.

the greens by gypsy circus
The Greens by Gypsy Circus is a mini-golf and games attraction that includes the first brewery in Oak Ridge, Atomic City. Three unique mini-golf courses await you and your crew, as well as a variety of other games to play: giant chess, bocce ball, ladder ball, pong and more.
